Local Muslim Activist Fauzia Rizvi to Join Rep. Takano at President’s Address to Congress
Washington, D.C. – Today, Rep. Mark Takano (D-Calif.) announced that local resident and Muslim activist Fauzia Rizvi will be his guest at President Trump’s address to a joint session of Congress on Tuesday night.
“I am honored that Fauzia has agreed to join me in Washington during this contentious and challenging moment in our national debate,” said Rep. Takano. “Fauzia is a strong and important voice in our community who works tirelessly to bridge the cultural divides that continue to afflict our country. I hope her presence is a reminder to President Trump that freedom and respect for people of all faiths is one of America’s founding principles.”
Rivzi is the General Secretary of the Islamic Society of Corona-Norco and was a featured speaker at the Riverside Women’s March on January 21, 2017.
