The application period for the Fiscal year 2013 Fire Prevention and Safety Program will open on Tuesday, February 18, 2014 at 8:00 a.m. EST and will close on March 21, 2014 at 5:00 p.m. EST.
The 2013 Department of Homeland Security Appropriations Act provides for $32 billion for the Fire Prevention and Safety Program, which enhances the safety of the public and firefighters.
“The Fire Prevention and Safety grant is a great opportunity for local firefighting organizations to receive additional funding and I encourage all eligible to apply,” said Rep. Takano. “Any local organization in need of assistance with their application can contact my grants specialist at my Washington DC office. Our local firefighters are real life heroes and this additional funding from FEMA will undoubtedly help reduce injuries and deaths from fire-related hazards.”
