Rep. Mark Takano Appointed Ranking Member for Economic Opportunity Subcommittee

Washington DC – Rep. Mark Takano (D-Riverside) was appointed to the position of Ranking Member for the Economic Opportunity Subcommittee in the House of Representatives, which falls under the Veteran’s Affairs Committee. Following his appointment, Takano released the following statement:

“I’m looking forward to serving as the Ranking Member on the Economic Opportunity Subcommittee for the House Veteran’s Affairs Committee. The 41^st District of California has deep military roots and this position will give me the unique opportunity to assist our nation’s heroes as they transition from battlefields of Iraq and Afghanistan to the workforce. My background as a classroom teacher and a community college trustee makes me distinctly aware of what it takes to succeed in the job market and I’m honored to use my twenty-five years of experience to help our veterans.”
