Rep. Mark Takano Conducts Transportation Safety Awareness Survey to Determine Inland Empire Needs
Washington DC – Yesterday, Rep. Mark Takano released a Transportation Safety Awareness Survey to determine the infrastructure needs of Riverside County.
In the survey, Rep. Takano asked residents which specific improvement or repairs should be the priority for the Inland Empire. Residents were able to select and provide details on either Public Transportation; Roadway Maintenance and Improvements; Freeway Maintenance and Improvements; Bicycling and Walking; Bridge Maintenance and Improvements; Sidewalk, Gutter and Curb Repairs; Poor Signage; and Traffic Signals.
The survey also asked residents for information on the commute including: how they commute to work, how long their commute is, how often they ride the bus, how often they are in “heavy” traffic, and how they would rate their commuting options in the Inland Empire.
Upon the survey’s release, Rep. Takano said, “In 2010, the American Society of Civil Engineers gave the transportation infrastructure in Riverside County a “D+” – a failing grade. This survey gives my constituents an opportunity to directly share their views on what the transportation infrastructure priorities of the Inland Empire should be and what areas need to be improved upon.
“By collecting this information directly from the residents, we can make the proper investments in our infrastructure and improve our community for future generations to come.”
