Rep. Mark Takano is Sworn in to the 118th Congress
WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Rep. Mark Takano (D-Calif.) released the following statement after being sworn in to the 118th Congress. This will be his sixth term in office, representing California’s 39th Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives.
“It is an immense privilege to represent California’s 39th Congressional District and serve my home community in Congress,” said Rep. Mark Takano. “I look forward to continuing serving on the House Committee on Veterans’ Affairs as Ranking Member and on the Education and Labor Committee.
“Last Congress, House Democrats delivered historic victories for families in the Inland Empire and across the nation—transformational investments in veterans’ health care, infrastructure and job development, climate change mitigation, and economic relief for the working class.
“After intense Republican obstructionism and delays to the start of this Congress, I remain vigilant to the threat of Republican extremism out to disrupt and distract from the work we are elected to complete. Now, we must hold House Republicans accountable to the task of meeting the nation’s challenges, bolstering our nation’s democracy, and making the American dream a real possibility for all. The 39th District has an advocate in Congress in me, and I will continue serving my constituents with dedication and commitment.”
