Rep. Mark Takano Statement on South Korean President Park Geun-hye’s Address to a Joint Session of Congress

Washington DC – Rep. Mark Takano (D-CA) released the following statement following the address of South Korean President Park Geun-hye to a joint session of Congress:

“President Geun-hye’s address today before a joint session of Congress is yet another example of America’s commitment to South Korea’s safety and ending North Korea’s buildup of nuclear capabilities. The international community can no longer sit idly by as North Korea continues to engage in behavior that repeatedly puts American allies at risk.

“My hope is that North Korea will come back to the negotiating table so that we may create a solid and sustainable peace the rids the world of a possible nuclear war.”
