Rep. Takano Announces $5.1 Million in Housing Community Funding in CA-39

A Part of $12.8 Million in Total FY '24 Community Project Funding to CA-39

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Rep. Mark Takano (D-Calif.) released the following statement on three housing community funding projects included in the FY24 appropriations process.

“California is dealing with high rents and a low supply of affordable housing.” said Rep. Takano. “These projects will contribute to moreliving and recreational spaces in the Inland Empire, and I am particularly excited for the additional homes for our community’s veterans. I am proud to announce the funding of these projects and congratulate the recipients on their successful application.”

The three projects selected are:

$2,500,000 for the Renovation of the Historic Armory Building in Fairmont Park in the City of Riverside

$1,666,279 for the City of Perris Senior Center Expansion project

$1,000,000 for the Habitat for Humanity’s Jurupa Valley Affordable 26-Home Veterans Buildproject

Congressman Takano submitted 15 Community Funding Requests to the Appropriations Committee. 14 of these projects received funding. All of his Community Project Funding requests and financial disclosures can be found here

This is the latest action Rep. Takano has taken to rein in rents and increase the supply of quality, affordable housing. This Congress, Rep. Takano co-sponsored the Stop Wall Street Landlord Act which would disincentive large corporations from purchasing single-family homes.
