Rep. Takano Statement on Passage of the INVEST in America Act
Washington, DC – Today, Rep. Mark Takano (D-Calif.) released this statement following the House passage of the INVEST in America Act, a five-year, $715 billion surface transportation reauthorization and water infrastructure bill that will create jobs, invest in workers and communities of all sizes, and tackle the climate crisis head on. This bill includes $20 million in contract authority to fund the I-15 northern extension project, which Rep. Takano helped secure.
“The INVEST in America Act will modernize our nation’s infrastructure and make our country better connected and more resilient,” said Rep. Mark Takano. “Investing in our communities is critically important, which is why I fought to make sure that this legislation included funding for projects that will greatly benefit Riverside County. I’m proud that, through our efforts, the INVEST in America Act allocates $20 million in new contract authority to fund the I-15 northern extension project. Californians depend on our freeways and highways every day. This significant investment will help improve regional mobility, address longstanding inequities, and strengthen our middle class by creating local jobs and putting people to work. I urge my colleagues in the Senate to pass this bill to help us deliver real results to the American people.”
