Rep. Takano BLASTS Bill to Limit Student Mental Health Surveys

Republicans are trying to limit how much we can learn about students' needs. Their bill would add a burdensome opt-in requirement for almost every school survey. Current law ALREADY requires schools to let parents opt-out of these surveys. The bill sponsor wants to make this change to undermine LGBTQ+ data collection & mental health screenings.
