Rep. Takano Proposes Stronger Accountability for For-Profit Education Companies

On December 13, 2017, Rep. Mark Takano offered an amendment to the PROSPER Act that would have restored accountability and transparency to the for-profit education industry. The House Republican bill gives for-profit colleges greater access to taxpayer money despite their history of defrauding students.
