Rep. Takano Statement on President Trump’s Executive Order on Energy

Washington, D.C. – Rep. Mark Takano (D-Calif.) released the following statement in response to President Donald Trump’s executive order on energy.

“For the past eight years under the Obama Administration, the United States set a powerful example for the world with its aggressive action to combat climate change. President Trump’s executive order undercuts the progress we made and ignores the overwhelming scientific consensus that man-made climate change is threatening to devastate our way of life.

“It is not surprising for a president who believes climate change is a Chinese hoax to enact reckless energy policies, but it is disappointing and damaging nonetheless. It’s now up to states across the country to fill the leadership void left by the administration and work towards a cleaner, more reliable, and more affordable energy future.”
