Rep. Takano Calls for Expanding Access to Transportation Grants
On November 3, Congressman Mark Takano spoke on the House floor in support of his amendment to expand access to grants for transportation projects.
The new transportation funding bill would limit eligibility for certain grants to projects costing more than $100 million. The most expensive project in Riverside is currently far less than that threshold.
Rep. Takano's amendment would have allowed a series of similar projects - such as grade separations - to be grouped together to qualify for a grant.
