Rep. Mark Takano Statement on the Retirement of Senator Barbara Boxer

Washington DC – Rep. Mark Takano (D-Riverside) released the following statement after Senator Barbara Boxer announced that she will be retiring in 2016:

 

“For more than three decades, Senator Barbara Boxer has served our great state – first as a member of the House of Representatives, then as a Senator. During her time in elected office, she showed herself to be a strong supporter of women’s rights, working families, the middle class, and most of all, our troops. Undoubtedly, her presence in Congress benefited millions of Californians.

 

“Although it could never do justice in showing the depth of our gratitude, thank you. You certainly did give a damn.”
