Rep. Takano Announces $23 Million Grant Awarded to Riverside County Department of Health
Riverside, CA – Today, Rep. Mark Takano (D-Calif.) announced a $22,604,360 grant awarded to the County of Riverside Department of Public Health through the Center for Disease Control (CDC) Strengthening U.S. Public Health Infrastructure, Workforce, and Data Systems grant program. Partially funded through the American Rescue Plan, these funds will help health departments ensure they have the people, services, and systems they need to promote and protect health in their communities, including significant resources for workforce development.
“The COVID-19 pandemic created extreme stress on our nation’s health care, and our systems and providers are still recovering. I’m thrilled to announce nearly $23 million in funding was awarded to the County of Riverside Department of Public Health, partially funded by the American Rescue Plan,” said Rep. Mark Takano. “This grant provides a strong opportunity to bolster Riverside’s public health infrastructure, aid in its recovery from the pandemic and shore up its resiliency for the future.”
