Rep. Takano Commends UCR for Receiving $2.5 Million Federal Grant to Support Business Growth in Riverside
Riverside, CA – The U.S. Department of Commerce announced today that the Economic Development Administration (EDA) is awarding a $2.5 million federal grant to the University of California, Riverside (UCR) for use in a life sciences industry business incubator. The Inland Empire Entrepreneurial Life Science Incubator Acquisition Project will support life sciences-focused businesses by creating job opportunities for the region’s workforce and addressing the demand for more high-skilled workers.
“I congratulate UCR on receiving this significant grant to help spur economic development and spark job creation in our region and I look forward to all the ways in which the life science community and our region will thrive because of it,” said Rep. Mark Takano. “This is an investment that will go far in Riverside and benefit all of the Inland Empire, and it is a testament to the work UCR is doing to support local entrepreneurship. In Congress, I will keep working to ensure that the federal government continues to invest in our communities and support innovative businesses that will move our regional economy forward.”
